I believe you're right, because in addition to that, the commercial's jingle sounds like it was out of the late 60s--like 1968 or 69ish. I also remember hearing the jingle quite sometime before 1974.

@OofusTwillip On the other hand, how nice that they eventually did- I'm in Austria now, where people STILL don't wear suntan lotion- ever.

How sad for human beings that it took over 20 years after this PSA first aired, for people's attitudes towards sun exposure to finally change.

I remember seeing this PSA late at night during the late movie. However, even though this PSA ran during the mid '70's, it was actually filmed sometime around the late 1960's... 1968, I believe.
