The arrival of picture day causes more than its share of sweaty palms and upset stomachs in children, especially when the camera is a 12-ton MRI machine that makes an unsettling knocking noise as they are slid inside. In this Children's Channel video podcast, Betsy Cetnarowski, a child life specialist at Akron Children's Hospital, shares her strategies to help put kids at ease during imaging procedures, as well as some steps parents can take before they even leave the house.

  • I was a little bit scared, but the technician explained how it takes pictures.

  • I realized that it does make a funny sound.
