@Diosibundo -They were saying the same thing about modernists in the 19th century.Modern art was about style, originality, innovation. It was self-referential, the painting itself was the subject(it didnt have a social function). But modernity went out of style.Omg! art is dead, no styles left!(ppl thought). What was dead, was modernism. So now, what postmodernist artists do is: use those modern styles as a repertory of techniques to communicate their ideas(now it has a social function).

@CrownChanel Its more like this, i think. Random things that have a different meaning for everyone, and because they have a different meaning for everyone they show how ineffective the idea of "total perfection" is, and total perfection was, essentially, the goal of modernists.

i have an asignment from school for post modernism.... what i got from my research untill now , is :
a bunch of random things that have a meaning , wich that meaning has no particular meaning except to counter and destroy older "meaninngs" ? is that right ? D:

Too much crap + not enough brain power to process that crap = postmodernism
Wow.
Once again you've reinforced my conclusion that "postmodernism" means "I'm a poser that wants to pretend he's a philosopher by throwing together random subjects with no coherent argument whatsoever"
Cool.

Nice - you captured the aesthetic of postmodernism and didn't define it, although one must ask, does it need or warrant a definition?
This comment is a pineapple, if I say it is.
