This song was first recorded in 1938 by Louis Jordan and the Tympany five in a style of blues called "Jump Blues"... It had a line about "Drinkin' Gin" that Richard's producers removed because they wanted to market this to a teen aged audiance.
nice comment, simple song that you can't stop listening to, the sax grooves are great, almost feel like you are being hit by the sax. straight up rock n' roll drive, blows the pop stuff away.
I bought this in the UK on a '78 in 1957 when I was 15 years old. I set the auto changer to play it continously and soon wore it out (metal needles). It's amazing that such a classic song only has three lines!
