  • I can understand wanting Carter out, but Kennedy couldn't hold a candle to Reagan and Reagan would have defeated him as hard or harder than he defeated Mondale.

  • I'm no kennedy fan, but one could only wish he got nominated instead of Carter. Carter was too volnerable to go against Reagan, Ted would've given the Gipper a run for his money.

  • Archie Bunker for Ted Kennedy?!

    Lol. I love that.

  • @Allocator2008 Close, but I think RFK would have been even better. Sadly, tragedy struck.

  • @daved1974 Wow, a TV character written as a caricature of the bigoted right by a liberal Democrat (Norman Lear) would have voted for Reagan. What a compelling argument you have there.

  • Rob Reiner even pointed out that Carroll O'Connor was more liberal than himself or his Hippie Meathead character.

  • We had a shot. We blew it. EMK might have put us on the path towards renewable energy. Now that is gone. Oh well. Rome fell. Such is history.

  • yeah but your character archie bunker would have voted for Reagan in a heart beat

  • should've won !

  • @FrsBigeasy Carrol O'Connor (Archie) was a liberal in real life.
