I get asked alot how I do all of my video recording, editing and exporting, so here it is, step by step how I do it. It's definitely not the only way to do it, but it's the way I do it, as it's pretty straightforward for my goals.

  • Alright, so i just uploaded my first youtube video of PR( Thanks to all your help) and have a question.

So after it is uploaded, can i delete the file so i can save space or will that mess up the youtube file?

Also: its about 200,000 KB. Is that pretty good size or should i compress it a different way?

    Thanks for all your help!

  • @LittleMerrill7 of course you can delete the file after upload.

The bigger the file size, usually means more quality, and more quality means YouTube's compression on top of it won't make it look that bad.

If you are using the same settings I suggest in the tutorial, you should be fine, but you could try and lower the quality and see how it goes.

I watched your video and it looks just fine.

  • Muitocomplicado,

Thanks for the tutorial bud, it's top notch. I'm having an issue, thought you might know how to correct it.

When trying to save my vid (as AVI in VD) I get the following error...

"Audio filter graph lacks an output node"

    Any suggestions,

    Shifty

  • @TheShiftyeye sorry, no idea, but google is your friend on those situations.

  • Don't be a dumb ass like me and download the 64 bit version of Vdub and waste an hour trying to find out why the codecs wont show up >:(

  • VOCE É BRASILEIRO ?

  • @JTFArockz you don't HAVE to, there might be other software like that, but Fraps is one of the traditional ones and you need the full version if you want to record more than 30s at a time.

  • Does anyone else have an issue with BF2 not scaling resolution? Now that I have the hard drive space to record some footage, I tried to set my resolution to 1280x800 so I could record and keep acceptable framerates. I am using a brand new copy of BF2 (steam version) and a Dell 2407WFP monitor (1920x1200). the rest of my system is on my PR forum profile. The problem is that the game doesn't scale vertically. I remember it not being a problem before the 1.5 patch if I recall correctly. Any ideas?

  • You have to get the "Mega" pack. Not the "regular" pack but the "mega" pack.

    MEGA.

    Lol

  • @muitocomplicado Arightty, thanks for the help. Also: for the setting you used on the x264 i believe was the name, i click on configure and on the top, there aren't any tabs. There is only basic. Any ideas??

    Thanks again
