This is beautiful. I got into the old broadside and childe ballads in college, and I always love hearing the myriad of different versions. The version I play is in Am G and C. It will be a shame if this form of singing is lost...

There's only one other Jean Ritchie performance. This came from a vhs produced in the 80's. It was a series that aired on PBS in the 80's. I don't know how many volumes there were. This was one was America's Folk vol. 2. I have several more uploaded: Doc and Merle Watson, and Mary McCaslin and Jim Ringer. I might put a few more up, there is a good set of songs from Dave Van Ronk.
