@peterpeterxxo It was by Phil Lynott [ Thin Lizzy] and was called Yellow Pearl peaked at No 15 in the UK Charts in late January 1982.

loved the background music for the chart rundown, does anyone know if it was an actual song like in 70s when zeppelins whole lotta love was used, or an in house bbc music ditty ?.

Just left school myself 28 May '82 - Oh the memories,not a care in the world,detested school and it felt like the end of a prison sentance to me,just started pubbing and clubbing,amazing,exciting times.Can remember leaving my parents house,being out all day till late evening,having a whale of a time - and all without a single penny in my pocket!!! Absolutely Golden years.

Wow! This was the top 30 for the week that I was born. :-)
I love so many of the bands mentioned e.g. Siouxsie and the Banshees, Echo and the Bunnymen, Depeche Mode, Adam Ant, Madness etc.
