I've written thousands of posts about politics since 2002 at 24Ahead.com

I focus on opposing massive & illegal immigration, & I have extensive coverage opposing far-left groups like the ACLU, NCLR, SEIU, etc.

And: tea partiers are the dumbest, most vile, least worthy major group I've ever seen who weren't outright enemies of the U.S. Teapartiers lie, mislead, make things up, use outrageous hyperbole, throw tantrums, play dress-up, and on and on.

Based on my experience with them over the past two years, I have yet to find a teapartier with any integrity or any ability to think. You can engage in a conversation with Birchers or the far-left and agree to disagree, but not so with teapartiers.

For example, the teapartiers - those who pretend to oppose high spending - are useful idiots for those who'd increase spending. Dick Armey (Freedomworks) supports illegal immigration, & the Koch family funds groups that advocate for loose or open borders.

What Armey and the Kochs support would not only increase spending, it would decrease the political power of the teapartiers. And, both are leading the teapartiers around by their noses.

The teapartiers have largely ignored immigration for the past two years. That's despite the fact that it's the most vulnerable issue for the Dems and the far-left and it's far more fundamental and vital than spending.

Further, most Americans oppose illegal immigration and few Americans support cuts to entitlement programs. The ideological support for the teapartiers is very shallow; few support what their leaders actually want.

If the teapartiers were smart they'd oppose the far-left on "social" issues, which is where the far-left is most vulnerable and most toxic. Instead, they oppose the far-left on the areas in which most people lean to the left (entitlements, etc.)

The good news for the U.S. is that teaparty support has topped out while opposition to them has risen. Support for them has been around 30% since Dec. '09, and opposition to them has risen from around 20% in 12/09 to around 45% in Apr. '11.

I suspect that most of that 30% support is just a protest vote - made by people who aren't being served by the Dems or the GOP - and not by those who agree with the teapartiers' "LibertarianLite" ideas.

The tea party has been largely co-opted by people like armey.  the original ron paul tea party and it's ideas are not like what is usually being projected by the media. Yes, there are idiots in the tea party, but in every other political affiliation as well. again, we need to find common ground or we'll lose everything while name calling and bickering about what we disagree on.
