New law radically changes alcohol trade

The new alcohol and beverages law will require brewers to reapply for licenses for all drinks they manufacture while it will be illegal to promote or advertise alcohol in the land. Under the act, it will be illegal to promote or advertise alcohol. Kaara Wainaina reports on the ramifications of the law and reactions from the players.

This is quite unwise, you cannot control alcohol by banning its sale in supermarkets, what they need to say is to not allow non-adults to purchase it from supermarkets.

Germany has >5,000 brands of beer, hundreds of wines, whiskys and all types of alcohol but they have no problem of alcoholism. Kenya <10 brands and chang'aa and has problems of all sorts, so it is not the alcohol that is the problem, it is the drinkers
