@lifestraight You said non whites are not represented well in government. We have a Black President. If you think he is not the right guy for the job, I agree. Bush had better 'nonwhite' representation in his adminstration than this guy.

@joskemom We should not need a Black leader, but if we have a leader who is Black, he should definitely sympathize, rather empathize with the myriad disadvantages faced by Blacks (or non whites in general) including racial profiling and other areas of instability and inequality. Non whites are not adequately represented in government or in general.

@shooterman13 That is EXACTLY why more attention should be paid to issues concerning non whites, because as it stands we are NOT all being treated equally. This is made evident in many ways, but I'll take missing person cases for example. Why is that the US only knows of Laci Peterson, Elizabeth Smart, Natalee Holloway, Caylee Anthony, Morgan Dana Harrington, etc.? I don't think it's a coincidence that all the most publicized missing person cases are white females. There is no equality in that.

I understand why many black Americans would be happy to have a black president. However, I find it ignorant that so many black people actually expected him to drop whatever agendas he was given by his money brokers and give whatever money and other benefits to regular black Americans. Guys like Tavis Smiley are only concerned what will help black Americans, instead of seeing America as a nation improve. The latter obviously would help all Americans, of course including black Americans.

As a black man, I have long been done with the whining 'woe we is black in white America'. We dont need a 'black leader' to enhance our life so this stupid poverty tour that Tavis and Cornel is on is just stupid and does nothing. And for all those who fell for the 'hope and change' crap--how is that working out? The financial status of black people has gotten worse under Obama because the whole damn econ system has gone worse under the community activist in chief.

An overwhelming amount of African Americans voted for Obama. As such, their views and issues merit attention as an important constituency as well.

President Obama is the weakest Black politician ever. I thought Obama would finish the poor peoples campaign Dr. King started before his assasination, but in just a few years, the President has done more to set poor people back than any other president in history. If you didn't stand & fight the 1st, 2cd & 3rd time, nothing is going to stop your enemy from taking everything he wants ( 2012 DEBT CEILING DEAL ) . We need a primary challenger. BETTA PRAY !!!
