it's not TURKISH you punk! It's TURKMEN.
Probably, you could call it "TURKIC", but not TURKISH! Turkish means "comes from Turkey", which is not true!

@princesskirara Eislinn said he was gene tested so I know they know what colour the horse is. A lot of horses can have the dorsal stripe and not be a dun, it happens a lot more than you think. I've researched horse colours a lot more than the average person, so I do know what I'm talking about.

I think he,s very handsome horse.

Regardless of his color, he's gorgeous!!

Think you meant to reply to princesskiara not me, but anyway, yes a buckskin horse can have a dorsal stripe . So far as i know, the dun gene does not exist in akhal teke or their descendants the thoroughbred but when they came to England we called them dun because we hadn't heard of buckskin before. Thats how the English get confused !
-
@Eislinn Actually a buckskin is a bay horse with a creme gene, however you need to test this horse, because hes not a buckskin hes a bay dun, I really doubt he carries the creme gene. He appears to be a bay horse with a dun gene, indicated with his dorsal stripe and darker color. He could be a dunskin (a bay horse with a dun gene and a creme gene) but I doubt it.

Hi there, I'm Greek as well. This is a lovely breed but I guess it must be difficult to find one. It must be very expensive plus transportation costs. (Ασχολείσαι με αθλητική ιππασία και το θέλεις;)
A bit confused here: but I've always was told and learned that a Palomino has a light colored mane and tail and could not have dark points.
yalissa73 2 years ago
that is true, but the gene that makes the palomino is the same that makes the buckskin.
a palomino is a red/chesnut horse with the gene and the buckskin is a brown horse with the same gene.
so you can bred palomino with a buckskin.

You are right, it makes no sense whatsoever to add the bay gene to the equation when breeding palominos as it reduces the chance of getting a palomino foal to just 25% asopposed to 50% from a palomino to palomino mating and 100 % from a chestnut to cream mating.

actually he has been gene testet, and he is in fact bucskin and do not have a dun gene dispite his stripe!
