Covering up the truth about Black Dahlia since the 80's.

I love this interview but face it, it's awkward. Conan's weirded out and his handling of Ellroy is a master class in late night talk show hosting. I like how Ellroy only tries to make things worse, but he's as socially awkward as he is witty, so lets not pretend he's in control. This interview's a combination of two guys having fun and being uncomfortable, which makes it interesting.

Hi James
-
Ellroy could he be Hunter S. Thompson's long lost brother? I'd like to think so!
-
Ellroy was the best crime writer alive, and still is, but his American Underworld trilogy- American Tabloid, The Cold Six and Blood's A Rover- cemented his position as the best American fiction writer of his generation. His prose is unique, his vision is singular. 100 years from now, people will still be reading his work. A motherfuckin' legend.

@purplexy54 You better read L.A Confidential first. The story ties in directly to White Jazz.

He destroyed Conan.

2 FUNNY!
Ellroy always killed on Conan. I love that he refuses to just be boring writer guy and instead comes barreling in with this insane pervert clown maniac persona and just takes out the whole room. You'd never know he's a brilliant writer from this interview, but you'd damn well be entertained.
