  • Hi Wevlog,

I only have one comment on this video and that is why do you call those outside the Catholic Church our brothers and sisters in Christ? To be in Christ, one must be baptized first and most protestant faiths do not believe they need to be baptized to be saved.

Even though some do get baptized later in life, one must also be in the state of grace to be in Christ. Protestants have no way to put their soul back into the state of grace after baptism, short of becoming a Catholic.

  • I refer to Protestants as our "brothers and sisters in Christ" because I believe that they are still Christ's followers, even though some of their beliefs are different than ours. It isn't their fault that their ancestors broke away from the Church. Most were raised to believe that our Catholic beliefs are false and distorted, just like we Catholics believe theirs are false and distorted. I believe Jesus desires love and unity, not seperation. We are all accountable for the truth that we know.

  • Hi WeVlog,

How can one who is not a true Catholic be a follower of Christ when he chooses not to believe all that Christ taught? Either there is one true Church or there is not.

Christ founded one Church not many. Man made the other religions and they are from hell not from God. Jesus does desire all men to be saved, but He cannot force our will to accept everything that He taught. That is up to the individual and those that refuse to hear His Church will end their life in hell.

  • There is a lot of confusion in the world as to which is the TRUE faith. No doubt I believe the true faith is the Catholic Church. But someone else may believe the true faith is something else, like maybe the beliefs of another Christian faith. The point is, is Jesus knows their hearts, Jesus knows our hearts. We all sought the TRUTH during our time on Earth. How is it any of our faults if we were wrong in our decision? I don't believe salvation depends on which card we place our bets on.

  • what is the JOHANNINE COMMA and why is it seemingly important in the translations of the BIBLE?

Surely the NICEAN ASSEMBLY made the catholic church and before thathat there were the many differing christian sects that were the early chuch.? What is the johannine comma?

  • Do origins really matter? Yes! To illustrate: Suppose you saw a piece of candy lying in the gutter. Would you pick up that candy and eat it? Of course not! That candy is unclean. Like that candy, holidays may seem sweet, but they have been picked up from unclean places.

  • The pagan roots of Christmas have long been recognized. Because of its unscriptural origin, Christmas was banned in England and in some of the American colonies during the 17th century. Anyone who even stayed home from work on Christmas day had to pay a penalty. Soon, though, the old customs were back, and some new ones were added.

  • (The New Encyclopædia Britannica) In winter, when the sun seemed weakest, pagans held ceremonies to get this source of warmth and light to come back from its distant travels. December 25 was thought to be the day that the sun began its return. In an effort to convert pagans, religious leaders adopted this festival and tried to make it seem Christian.

  • Even if Jesus disciples had known the exact date of his birth, they would not have celebrated it. Why? Because, as The World Book Encyclopedia says, the early Christians considered the celebration of anyones birth to be a pagan custom. The only birthday observances mentioned in the Bible are those of two rulers who did not worship God

  • There is another reason why first-century Christians would not have celebrated Jesus birthday. His disciples likely knew that birthday celebrations were connected with superstition. For instance, many Greeks and Romans of ancient times believed that a spirit attended the birth of each human and protected that one throughout life. This spirit had a mystic relation with the god on whose birthday the individual was born, says the book The Lore of Birthdays.
