Fighter Jet with "Gear Down" flying over Sycamore, IL

On April 22, 2008 while outside planting flowers with Mom and enjoying the sun with my awesome neighbor, Gigi, we witnessed more than 10 + Fighter Jets flying the same course right over our apartment complex. This one had it's landing gear down. I am not sure if the pilots were just doing training missions, and practicing maneuvers, but they were awful low, I would guesstimate 3-4,000ft. up.... and running at intervals of every 4-5 minutes. It was just very odd, since the only real military planes we see out here in farm country in yearly around the time of the Chicago Air & Water Show in the summer. It's usually just the C-130's flying over DeKalb, IL out of the NW Burb at Glenview Air Field taking the LONG WAY into the city for their appearance in the show... so seeing these fighter jets... it was just an interesting day, but also worrisome, because since they were so low, we were wondering if they were going to land somewhere or if something was going on or what... and there was not anything on the locals news stations about it at all.

I live on barber greene like right next to the dekalb airport and its gotten to be notuncommon to see planes like this shake our house like an earthquake. someone just bought a multi-million dollar Russian MiG-21 and they keep it there (a vietnam-era fighter) and that thing nearly shatters our windows on takeoff.
