Days of Being Wild

By Wong Kar-Wai

Starring Leslie Cheung, Maggie Cheung, Carina Lau, Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, Tony Leung, Rebecca Pan

For me, after "Ashes of Time", "Days of Being Wild" is the best film of WKW (though I love "Happy Together" most 'cause of some reasons). This film is like a colorful dream, with sad feeling of "old days"... It's not easy to "see" its "art" as "In the mood for love" or "2046", but when you realize, this is one of most beautiful thing of all-time...

I love Leslie's acting in this film... You know, "the bird without legs" :)

  • You people really crack me up... Instead of trying to engage with the film's rhythm, its emotions, its characters you search for "message" or something like the "main idea", as if that would be something which pops up right from the start. Do you look at things that way in real life too?

bad acting? wtf? Keep away from all tose drugs please... the acting in this is terrific.

  • LOVE LESLIE,

  • it's really interesting the way the prostitute reminds us Lulu (almost the same dress and same behavior) and it's the same for the other one in the hotel (she reminds us Su Li Zhen's shyness and cuteness )

  • you are right my bad... I guess i was comparing this movie to a hollywood movie which it is not. guess the director don't see the need to fill the audience with those so call "main ideas" but leave us half empty with lost doubt. THat Right "Life" is not about Meaning just "rhythm"

  • Most sections of the film attempt to narrate how people react to rejection => something you can call "Sadness with your past"
