@mezza2O5 Are you Delusional?, this is a ANTI-EU Programme (as should be blatantly obvious), or are you just visually impaired?
Anyone whom thinks the BBC is Socialist, has a lot to learn about Politics, and a lot more besides.
-
@HerrOttoKranz Hmm, if you still do not know after watching this Video, then god help you.
In actuality UKIP is the 4TH Largest Political party in Britain. That and the Conservatives (Our Oldest & Largest Political Party) won the 2010 National Election in part due to promising a Referendum on Europe (which they have yet to deliver).
I have nothing against Spain or any of the European Powers, but do not support the EU, the Eurozone, nor any of it's associated Political / Bureaucratical Blarney.
-
As a Spaniard I really don't understand you British opponents of the EU. If most of the people are against it, why do they continue to vote for politicians that are in favour of it??
Correct me if I am wrong, but UKIP, which is the most ardent defender of British withdrawal, is not a significant political force in the country.
I am not enthusiastic about the EU, but I am yet to find a satisfying answer regarding that paradox.

@CyberspacedLoner That's not true. You are talking about power. You want Europe to be powerful. Well, power isn't everything. I recently visited the Czech Republic. They are far, far less rich and far, far less powerful than America, but it was a far, far better place to be than America.
Britain is a trading nation. We build our prosperity through trade. The EU prevents us from that via regulation. Britain can be richer if we left the EU.
-
the problem is that the european states disunited even the largest ones are too weak to project powerful imperial force/influence, be able to force other states to give access to resources and qualified workers for production and export markets at favourable conditions, globalisation, which is the basis for modern society, the EU is a necessary evil, a voluntary union of states to promote shared interests, sharing sovereignty, a hybrid; both a international organisation and a confederacy.
-
The old, vigorous Europe with its muscular Christianity, clear vision and desire to forge ahead is long gone. At least the absurdity of the "single currency" has probably stopped for the foreseeable future any move in that direction.
Europeans seem terrified that people could work out problems on their own without the "benefit" of constant state rulings & bureaucratic dictates.

We are being defeated by our Own Democracy in a word! Peter you are right to not trust them...!
