The Constitution Implementation Commission has reacted sharply to the Cabinet's plan to amend the Constitution and alter the election date to December. The Commission's Chairperson, Charles Nyachae dismissed the proposal as mischievous and an act of impunity. But in a quick rejoinder, Constitutional Affairs Minister, Mutula Kilonzo defended the Cabinet arguing that if elections were to be held in August then this would interfere with the normal functioning of Government.
