@Dunsford52 You caught my mistake, from seven months ago. Solid work. I should have said 105 degrees, or about there.
You sir, however are talking to a D3 hockey player, so you can't tell me I'm wrong and know nothing. Your arms are independent of your legs, it's a subconcious effect that you move your arms with your legs. This helps when running, NOT skating. If you take a hit while skating towards a puck skating like this video tells you too, you'll dislocate your shoulder 80% of the time.

@Tidus22340 You clearly know nothing about physics, geometry, or anything regarding athletic training of any sport. When you swing your arms your legs move, try walking. When you bend your knees past 90 degrees its bad for your knees, try looking into plyometrics.
Hmm, what did I forget? Oh yeah! Geometry... a 75deg angle is a sharper angle than 90 degrees, getting that low is impractical and you are so low to the ice that your legs can't even function properly, 90 deg is fine.

@PortoPride2 sorry 180 is straight

if anyone skated like that they would be called retarded

Show me 1 NHL player that skates like that! The V-start is obsolete and what a wonderful way to waste energy and lose speed by swinging your arms like a ballerina!
90° hahaha thats not even 45°
