James Kalm visits the studio of William Powhida for an interview as the artist prepares for his upcoming exhibition at Schroeder Romero Gallery opening May 11. Part two of an extended report.
as far as Dash Snow is concerned - He traded some work with Christopher Wool. If it's good enough for Christopher Wool, it's good enough for me. This guy on the other hand only wishes he could hold Dan Colen's paintbrush. He'd die to "be his friend".
great to see current smart work, artists dealing with the problems of being an artist in their work, and jabbing back at the establishment...loved seeing the giant A-animal/muscle suppliment logo stolen, hey they work for me...they suppliment my creative powers!

For metaart it's flat and doesn't have much bite. The allegory is a bit cliche' and needs more risk.
