Damn, 2 days before he died...and he had to play this song. Wow. Irony, you are cold bastard.
-
Absolutely, and undoubtedly a gem.
There will never be another.

what is that rock n' roll anyway...

so none of you know that he came to Sligo, Eire, 2 weeks before, we played, and I recorded it...so, the last ever live recordings of Nikki...doing what he did best, improvising over a tune he wrote way back when...he was wearing his long black cape that night, and a red scarf...we played to an audience of 5, growing to 10..he didn't care...still made his magic and stole 11 hearts....

RIP Nikki - I remember very well the days we stood together and waiting that they will open the doors for the rolling stones shows in Europe
-
@televisionlighter wow, that's sad.

Another great singer songwriter who died too early. I would have liked to see him live and The Jewel Thief is one of the most overlooked albums released in 1991!

nikki siempre aca (L)

I saw his last show at the knitting factory. Didnt even know who he was, went for the Gossip and fucking hated it so I went into the bar in the basement, Sudden was playing. He died that very night.

@televisionlighter - yep, playing with Alan Merrill, who wrote 'I Love Rock'n'Roll' - Nikki having fun with a borrowed Fender. The vid of that is maturing in my vault - I will get around to posting it one day soon.
