  • what is it?

    how does it happen?

  • Short answer...ice crystals in the high thin cirrus (usually in front of a low front) are all oriented in the same direction, refracting sunlight much like a rainbow. (think prism).

  • this just happend today.

  • It is not chemtrails. Chemtrails are crap made up by people who don't have a single clue about cloud physics. All it is is a circumscribed halo made by ice crystals.

  • looks like chemtrails to me.

  • @butterfly3873 This has all the hallmarks of a simple solar halo. Solar halo's, glories, and sundogs are fairly frequent proceeding weather fronts...look at the sky long enough, and you'll realize that they're fairly common.

  • theres one in the philippines ^_^

  • just a prismic effect through the local atmosphere.. its not actually the sun and the outer space..

  • nice capture..thanks for posting

  • beautiful, cant remember ever seeing one before

  • in costarica today i see an halo solar en costarica hoy susedio el halo solar
