Hm, ... i have 18576 Point, with XFX 9800GTX+ with 820 mhz Chip, and Corei5 with 4x 3,5 GHZ. Hm, only 1500 Points more for double Power Supply, and much money. Bad Idea .

That is a great score matey!! my best is 16,737 with similar set-up cpu only at 3.0 ghz though and cards at 790mhz cc and 1187mhz mc

yup, 3dmark06 is VERY cpu dependant. Your score will sky rocket if you increase the cpu speed.

now would super pi be a good judge of how hot it should get or should i actually play a game, say, farcry 2 for a good 10 minutes to get the heat up.

play games. You should only worry about applications your running. So if you play fc2 for an hour, and it doesnt go over 60, then your fine.

ah, because i have an evga 780i motherboard and two gigs of corsair 1066ram at 1066. the 780 boards apparently auto set the needed voltages to the cpu / ram when overclocked. its at 3.2 right now and the voltage is 1.41v the cpu idles at 33c (the cores idle at between 35 - 40c idle) think maybe i should try 3.4 on air cool?

ye go for 3.4. Start to worry when your going over 60 c on load, thats when you need a better cooler or water.
