i turn off GI and add a rectangular light, but i still get a black render. i have tried putting the multiplier up to ridiculous settings and some blury picture comes through. what am i doing wrong?
Once you created a light source (rectangular light, spotlight, omni light or directional) you can select the light by clicking on it. The you will see the light's option under properties.
hi you said at have the light selected how do you do that, because in the properties the only thing there is, materials and texture mapping but no light
GI(Skylight) is like a 360 light dome around your whole model. If you don't have any other light source like a rectangular light and you turn off the GI(Skylight), your render is going to be black, because there no light on the scene. If you add a rectangular light and you turn off the GI, you are going to see only the light that is coming from that rectangular light.
