thank you.i realize hallucinations are different than illusions.she definitely has a stimuli and then it gets distorted. like when she was writing at school the sound of pencil to paper was extremely pronounced then when she started to write again the sound was a loud screaming. so there is a stimuli. what is the right specialist for this kind of occurrence.she has been to a neurologist and could not diagnose seizures due to a normal eeg .. any good brain books in laymen terms.
@menewme13 A seizure can cause random firing throughout the brain. If it causes a face/mouth twitch, it is probably affecting the corresponding part of the 1 motor Cx, & spreading to the tongue part of the 1 somatosensory Cx. The route cause of the seizures is what you need to find out.
From those symptoms, it does not sound like schizo. A 'hallucination' is perceiving something in the absence of a stimulus. This seems more like a misinterpretation, or a loop.
daughter has EVENTS with seizure like symptoms, left side of face twitches, mouth drops open and pulls more to left and unable to speak. after it is done she slurs her words for a minute more.she is aware of surrounding. has an aura of a tingling tongue. she has not had this event for 1 1/2 years but still gets the aura. for the past two weeks she has had 6 auditory illusions. example...the alarm went off and to her it got extremely loud and fast. could this be auras as well or schizophrenia.

Regardless, ask a Dr's opinion.
