  • man, did the car end upside down in the water or what? nice that you are all ok

  • @fran812 Yes we ended upside down in the water, luckily it was only low tide and we weren't completely submerged.

  • Thanks scoter1, we made it through absolutely fine. The car has been scrapped now and I'm taking a bit a break from rallying (which was planned for before I had the crash).

I still love that road though it isn't very forgiving if you crash. In saying that, I'd rather drop into some water than fall off a cliff :)

  • A lot of people were having issues with semi slicks picking up a lot of gravel from the carpark and road surface and not being able to scrub them off sufficiently. This alongside turning in slightly more sharply and under braking left the tail end light it started sliding.

Being in a rush to get to the start line didn't help with my mental state and I believe that caused my jerky driving as well.

  • i wish i could see a better view

  • Thought Id have a search for Shelly Bay sprints to bring back some memories, reminds me of exactly why I didnt compete in that event, that would almost certainly be what Id have done may years ago. Awesome to see that its still being run. didnt look like a very nice day.... not a surprise I suppose.

Hope you guys made it through okay.

  • Thats just unlucky that you came onto a different surface and turned in as you buttoned off which caused button off oversteer and then it snapped back when it regained grip. The worst thing you can do is think, if only I had......the main thing is that you are ok!

  • DAM didnt like the look of the rock before impact! Makes my one last year 50m up seem small! ..Mike

  • Holy crap. Not nice to watch. Amazing camera to take firstly the big impact and then the sea water.

  • @ninjadori Run two you were off throttle just before the bump and on this run you were off throttle right on the bump...must have unweighted the rear and combined with the change in surface and maybe colder rear tyre or gravel it all went wrong...

  • OMG! Mate I am happy to see you are both out of there and unhurt!!
