These two series are really different. Of course, they look different (lugs & tom suspension system) , the Renown Maple is close to traditional USA Custom with same sort of specs : 6-ply maple shell, GTS system, lugs... it won't sound as good as USA Custom because of wood choice and Nitrocellulose lacquer, mainly.
The New Classic is a modern kit with proportionate maple shell. This will give you a well balanced sound and more versatile. You can play any kind of music with it.
