  • @88lostprophets88 I get sick of this weak excuse of "big markets, big money". Football is popular in America because of its history and passion for the game in the communities. In fact you will find more passion at the high school level in the South and at small college towns throughout the U.S. then you will at any CFL market. From the CFL's own site, it wasnt till 58 that the CFL was formed cause the CFC withdrew from the CANADIAN RUGBY UNION, and adopted more NFL rules throughout the 60's.

  • @88lostprophets88 I never denied that the Greycup is an older TROPHY then the superbowl, but dont confuse the trophys with the sport. My post was in regards to GRIDIRON FOOTBALL, which was created by Walter Camp in Ohio. Canada played more of a rugby style game until the 1950's when they adoppted gridiron football. The game your refering to between Magill and Harvard was a rugby style game that bares no resemblances to gridiron.

  • @canukmark096 THE GREY CUP HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE THE CRFU hence we are going in our 100TH GREY CUP AND ITS NOT AN AMERICAN SPORT,its based out of two european sports(rugby and soccer)and the first college game were between a canadian and american college. you guys think because the NFL has more money, a much larger market and those two factors sign BIG names that go for BIG money, these people play for the game itself. because theyd rather play football then sit on their ass and troll all day

  • @Love4SK Once again ignorance has come into the conversation. NFL 1920, CFL 1958, nuff said. Do some research, the superbowl came about with the merger of the AFL and NFL, where as your precious greycup wasnt even a CFL trophy until the 60's, prior to that it was a rugby trophy. Look, I like the CFL its a fun leauge to watch but I dont know why Canadians go so butt hurt to admit that gridiron football is an American product and is played at a higher level in the USA.

  • @Aggiesgigem ya, and too bad the boring rules follow the talent down south, XD

  • lol,too bad the talent goes to the nfl.

  • @canukmark096 100 grey cups, 40 something superbores, nuff said

  • @Love4SK Dont confuse the leauges with the trophys. Talk about mis-informed history, the Greycup wasn't even a CFL trophy until the 60's. And the Superbowl came about with the merger of the NFL & AFL. Profession gridiron football in America goes all the way back to the Ohio Leauge from 1903, the NFL offcially began in 1920. Yes there are some Canadian teams that go back to the 1890's but they were rugby teams, Canada did not adopt gridiron football until the 1950's, and the CFL began in 1958.

  • @missbigazzbooty ...What's your point? Couldn't care less if our best players are from the US, Japan or Great Britain... Doesn't change the legitimacy of our feelings.

  • @Magnifico35 Speak for yourself..
