I first saw Billy Bragg at City University freshers week 1983. Most recently at the Green Man festival last year.  The bloke is a national treasure.

vermillion303 Barking was posh when Billy was a kid in the 70's. It is now a third world slum is due to the policies of the Liebor Party that Billy supports. His dad was a posh manager in a tailor's shop 'suits you sir' and his mum was middle class too. They were well off. If Billy is such a fan of Barking why doesn't he still live there? No you are confused. Socialism is fascism and people like you excuse it by pretending 'that's not socialism', rather then admit you are wrong. No, you're very confused. What you're thinking of is false socialism. It's when socialist governments put facists in charge and it all goes to heck. This happens because socialism was not meant to have a singular leader. But, alas, the people with the power to create the alleged socialist governments all end up not wanting to truly "give power to the people." It is basically human error. On paper, it's perfection, but factor in human greed and it all falls apart.
