The October 27, 1996 episode of Superstars, featured Brian Pillman conducting an in-ring interview with Steve Austin regarding Austin's upcoming match against Bret Hart at the Survivor Series. Austin brutally attacked Pillman's already injured ankle toward the end of the segment after Pillman praised Hart. He locked Pillman's ankle in a steel chair and then stomped it. Moments later, Pillman was taken backstage on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance. He was helped at ring-side by officials and Superstars Bob Holly and Alex "The Pug" Porteau.

Either way Austin didn't break it but it was a good show from behind the curtain that night.

This segment was shot because doctors had to re-break and re-set Pillman's ankle because it didn't heal properly the first time.
