@HaDudeHaAmiti of course Resenbrink might be right about what the 5 centimeters and being top goal scorer but it is hard to believe that a player who scored (or would have scored) 6 goals out of which 4 were from penalties would have been chosen as the best player in anybody's book.

I can't stand Paddy Crerand.

Two Legends: Brian Clough and Johann Cruyff

Rensenbrink is probably the unluckiest footballer in World Cup history. His playing style was similar to Cruyff's, technically brilliant and had a good vision. Had he scored he'd have been a national hero and an international superstar. He was a succesful player in Belgium, I know, but the story would have been a lot different.

What a coup for ITV at the time to get Johan Cruyff as part of their punditry team. The y must have paid him an awful lot of money for this. Johan always a good business man.

Against the post from Rensenbrink...(@ 1.31) cost the dutch the win! although some dutch players (zwartkruis) didn't mind losing since they thought they wouldn't have come out alive otherwise...

If the referee and linesmen had done their jobs... Two hand balls and no card? No penalty? The Hand of Cheats. Disgusting.

Johan.....Just wish he would have been on that pitch instead of in that studio. Might have been different!!!!!!!
"If the trajectory of my shot had been five centimetres different, we would have been world champions. On top of that, I would have been crowned top scorer and perhaps chosen as the best player of the tournament - all in the same match. That's why I keep things in perspective." Rob Rensenbrink. 1:25
