Thats why they based the Srt.4 motor off of the 420A not the 4g63 alot more reliable stronger motor and easier to work on too yes I own a 97 eclipse RS and starting to get money together to turbo it and my buddy has a 05 srt4 everything from the intake manifold to the Timing belt is all in the same place Only thing that is different is where the fuel injecters are, 420A is under the intake manifold, srt4 are above down pipe

Diamond Star Motors* "DSM" was an automobile-manufacturing joint venture between the Chrysler Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC).

So, in the end... All products made by both Mitsubishi and Chrysler (including engines!) Are considered DSM,  until 1999. So, eagle talons, eclipses rs,gs,gst,gsx,etc are considered products of diamond star motors

@fieryfury3 DSM=Diamond Star Motors. So pretty much a DSM is probably gonna be most mitsubishi, Chrystler, and alot of Dodge engines.

@Skippy3931 the 420a is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to dsm motors, that's why they used the 4g63 in the Evo for so long.

@Skippy3931 LMFAO quit sqewing shit out ur mouth kid, the 420a is NOT more reliable then the 4g63 -__- and let me get this straight, ur buddies injectors are above his downpipe? so there on the exhaust side of the engine.... i think thats a big problem there. but ill let u in on a little secret, mitsu wouldnt put a better engine in the eclipse and a shitty one in there flag ship car :/ and thats just the truth

@fieryfury3 you do realize DSM means diamond star motors. and "diamond star" reffers to the mitsubihi logo. you do realize DSM and mitsubihi are the same thing, right?

Actually I heard only the gs and rs are DSM because the gst and gsx are only Mitsubishi

@franciskith0o sorry to disagree man but your facts are wrong, DSM and 420a are not the same, a 420a is not a DSM and everyone thats owns a dsm will tell you the same thing! 420a is a strictly chrysler motor, not dsm...!!! the same arguement has been going on forever, and its getting old!
