I used that trick all the time when I was working as a Panel beater (smash repairer) regardless of the car if it was over 5 years or older all 4 windows would get done put up and down a few time's then the car would be detailed to go back to the owner once repaired. Mums old car had that problem put the Silicone spray on it and the windows are still going fine 3 years later (as they'd get stuck you'd have to push them back then guide them up VERY ANNOYING Typical 98 EL Ford Falcon Futura it was)

Just replace the windshield motor, problem solved.

@idz135 Explain what you mean by the door not securing in the winter?

@Stylnjj84
I can't get the doors to lock as if the cold weather has expanded the doors. I have to wait a long time w/ the heat on blast, only then can I close and lock.

@idz135 Check the door lock guide.. it's on the frame of the car..(part where the lock goes onto) loosen it and close the door slowly and see if it needs adjusted to align up properly with the door or spray the lock on the door it self. Let me know.

Hey, thanks..I personally used Advance Autos Silicone spray. Just spray both guide rails and be generous, spay them good, then run the window up and down and spray it continuously like that.
