The Lear Fan 2100 was the last aircraft project of William P. Lear. He passed on in 1978, a couple of years after starting it. Without his genius and strong leadership, the project failed. However, two prototypes were built and they both flew.
The Lear Fan was a revolutionary design as it was built entirely in carbon-fiber, twice as strong as aluminum at half the weight, a revolutionary material at the time, saving weight and providing unparalleled performance and economy.
Thanks Moya for your inspirational leadership! Thanks Torch Lewis for bringing me on board, thanks to Ernie Phillips for keeping me on until we lost our contract!
The greatest experience of my life!
