This is not a quick video where they explain why Han Solo did not make an appearance in the 3rd Star Wars prequel. Apparently, they were very close to including him.

@zombiemurloc I'll just bet the original cast curses the Internet for existing. I doubt hardly anyone outside of the series' most hardcore fanbase knew this turd even *existed,* much less saw it. Now, there's no escaping their association with it...

2) Anyway: I vaguely recall Han Solo's original backstory where he was a rank-and-file member of the Imperial Fleet before some incident wrecked his loyalties to the Empire and inspired him to desert and start over in the intergalactic "parallel economy." I believe it also forged his friendship with Chewbacca. As Wookies were steadfast allies of the soon-to-be Galactic Empire in Ep. III, I doubt it would've made shoehorning Han into the narrative at that point any easier.

@BarkBarf Han Solo was 33-years-old in "A New Hope" which is 19 years after "Revenge of the Sith"- so every Star Wars fan would know he was only a kid during the third and final prequel. Also- Harrison Ford would have been much too old and they would have had to have used a young man to play him. Somebody once said they were hoping to finally get to see a story explaining how Han Solo ended up having to pay off Jabba the Hutt- but they learned that was not going to get to ever happen.
