I was blown away by seeing this premier in Minnesota. I prepared by reading the book directly beforehand and was surprised by how thorough the opera captured the story and its characters. The production values and singing were of the highest caliber. I wanted to see it again, but unfortunately it was sold out! For those of you not aware, Ricky Ian Gordon is a cross-over composer - expect some Broadway-esque numbers. Bravo Minnesota Opera.

I saw the world premiere of this opera with Minnesota Opera. I have to say, it was long, boring, and way too much like musical theater-not opera.
