Renee Gerger, M.S.W. LMSW, LMFT, BCD.CAAC, is a Board Registered Interventionist II (BRI) practicing in Oakland County MI (248-705-9595) and in Palm Beach County, FL. Her practice is limited to organized intervention in substance abuse, sexual addiction, gambling and eating disorders. In this video, Renee explains the components of an intervention. She tells about ways to find, reference and credential an interventionist. She explains what to expect from an addiction intervention. Finally, she stresses the importance of action, given a 90% success rate for intervention resulting in an addict getting into treatment for his or her addiction. Gerger is a Board Member of the Association of Intervention Specialists (AIS), and is a member of NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, formerly the National Association for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (naadac.org), and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT). Gerger notes that AIS member interventionists are listed on the associationofinterventionspecialists.org website.
