  • First of all thanks for viewing our site. I know exactly what you are saying. I too have applied for that position many years ago. Many Govermental Agencies say that to you just to pasify you while they allow their, families, friends and cronies in. I too have been the victem to counless applications that I am fully qualified for and go back on the list, even though I'm a veteran from 2 wars. that being said, you must write your political leaders, have your friends and families do the same.

  • I have tried this "system" that was supposed to be set up to help us, but has actually been more frustrating than helpful. More often than not, we get fed up and try looking other places for employment. But in those instances, have only gotten the run arouns there as well.

    Sgt McKenna,

As a fellow veteran, I thank you for your service and we are trying to gather additional information regarding OPM hiring practices. We are working for you and look for an update over the next 2 weeks regarding OPM and corporate hiring issues affecting our veteran community.

  • unqualified personnel are more likely to be hired at opm. the gov sees this as a way of control. as a vet with a 50% disability rating, i have been lied to, stabbed in the back, and discriminated against many times. its true i am a current employee, but i am stuck in a rut due to not being a female or willing to suck up. OPM-FISD (investigative svcs) at boyers, pa is a disgusting place to work.

  • The other thing I have to say is that when I applied for the Sec Serv a few years ago when they were having a huge hiring campaign, I was told that I have two strikes against me, that I was a white male and I was "over qualified" for the Uniformed Division, and that they had a quota to fill.
