This peice is my fave on this album! It's just gorgeous.

@60sThru80s Snakedance has that too and it was a studio filmed story. The script and acting were so imaginative and you really feel like you've been introduced to an alien belief system.

WHY didn't they tell us the synths used? When I got this cd in 1991, an Elka Synthex was cheap, now they're £2,000 and up! A truly gorgeous synth designed by Mario Maggi, presets by Paul Wiffen. The prototype was built for Gianni Mazza, the last one for Stevie Wonder. Also used by J. M. Jarre, Keith Emerson, and Ultravox.

@Redhellmet The can. They do. They're on You Tube! JMP synth, Jexus, Synthpro, Buchla 3000, Retrosound, Analog Audio, gerardeerkes, samaurailonewolf, lesingemonotone, envelopegenerator, Synthifrau to name but a few! The talented synthesists of today. Put in a synth you want to hear eg Elka Synthex, Prophet, Roland Jupiter, Yamaha CS80, Moog, Clavia etc. There's tutorials and repairs as well. (Go to my page and look in favourites to find some.) For Who themes go to the Whomix site.

sorry, but I prefer this music over Gold. THIS is what Dr Who should sound like - moody and spacey, not like a flipping orchestra.

I love this music. BBC BRING BACK THE RADIOPHONIC WORKSHOP!

Man, it sounds even better here than it did in the episode! And I always thought it was great...
This was perfect...it absolutely matched the alien world, the costumes, their religion...kind of a Bedouin feel. God, I miss this level of talent today.

One of my most favourite Dr Who scores ever from Peter Howell. Great use of Fairlight CMI and Elka Synthex.
