I don't think CBS made a mistake in hiring Couric but I think they made a mistake for retooling the Evening News and make it less of a hard news. If Katie debuted with same newscast she had today, they no doubt it'll be the most trusted, most watched of the Big Three. But they made an effort on changing it to non-traditional which is risky. Katie shoudln't be blame. Katie is the most successful news person in a decade or two. Give her a break

CBS is to blame for not only having faulty intelligence and poor taste in hiring Couric, but for keeping her after adverse ratings, lackluster performances and internal strife. Everyone else in life has to deal with accountability, so why shouldn't CBS and Couric do the same.
