http://www.mda.state.mn.us How are we generating cleaner fuels from combustible materials, such as wood chips? Learn about a plant in Benson, Minnesota that burns biomass in a process called gasification to turn out a clean gas (synthetic) similar to the natural gas used to heat our homes and businesses.

This video is part of the "Fields of Energy" DVD, a production of Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom. "Fields of Energy" and its 12 segments are an introduction to how agriculture uses science and technology to look for renewable energy and fuel.

Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom invites you on a video field trip about homegrown solutions to energy challenges. The widespread vision for sustainable energy sources and the quest for a cleaner environment have led to research, innovation and legislation changing the way we live and work.
