Doris, here's your demo. My stitches are a bit loose, and the first time through isn't terribly clear...but keep watching!

For everybody else: this is a demo of a specific decrease. The pattern called for the first two stitches to be slipped, as if to knit, then to return the slipped stitches (keeping them twisted) to the left needle, and then to purl two stitches together through the back of the loop.

  • Youtube is the best thing that ever happened to knitters, thanks! I'm working on a sweater and had no clue how to do this stitch. Makes perfect sense now!

  • Your work is out of camera range and we can't see how to do it

  • I am just wondering... why don't you just purl them, without slipping them? I find it unnecesary...

  • Thanks Doris! I needed a reminder on the purl-through-back-of-loop, and now I know I pulled the yarn through wrong.

  • Thank you for this video! I have a pattern that calls for this and I didn't have a clue how to do it.

  • Hi there,
