@carlosgodoy1 na, it comes before the wire, from the early 2000s. anyway, the scriptwriting is really good in the wire: it makes a point and it's poetic without losing its realism. The Corner takes gives you deeper glances from the point of view of some characters, and doesn't necessarily focus on a storyline (well it has one, but I think that the characters in this show are the central point). It's really good, despite being kind of short (mini series, 6 episodes). I've enjoyed both.

@philly442 I don't think you watched more than one episode of it if all you can say is "I laughed a little." The Sopranos is great. But so is The Wire. I'm Italian as well, born on the North-West side of Chicago where they currently have a pretty nice mob revival thing going on, but even I can't say The Sopranos is wildly better than The Wire. I'm stuck between the two. So I really don't think you've actually seen them both.
