Hi, i'm rachel. im 22 years old and i know how HARD and FRUSTRATING it can be living with bipolar disorder. The good news is, it doesn't have to DEFINE who you are. It is simply like any other illness that is chronic yet CAN be managed with therapeutic skills and medications in order to feel " stable" . Normal is such a stupid word to me. What is normal? whoever feels entitled to judging others probably have their own insecurities themselves, so if you want, judge me. but at least keep an open heart.

  • @kmars29 If you can relate to her story, is very possible that you have it. Don't be afraid to ask your therapist about it. If you do not feel like your problems are being addressed, look for another therapist. Medication, a health diet, and proper rest and support can do so much to help you to keep your life in balance. The main trigger for tilting either to mania or depression is stress.

  • I know a lot of people with bipolar. The disorder causes a lot of pain. Thank you for sharing. Sounds like you are still very hard on yourself. You are right, bipolar does not define a person any more than cancer defines a cancer patient. I truly admire those of my friends who can manage their cycles through diet, medication, proper rest etc. It is a tremendously difficult road. Many will not ever understand and will judge. Check out DBSA (Depression Bipolar Support Alliance) for support.

  • hi first i wanna say ur very helpful and thx for makin this video:) second, i have a question. i have had these symptoms yet im only 11. i see a therapyst but she hasnt mentioned any thing bout this disorder. so if i have these syptoms, is it possible not have it? cuz km worried i do have it and it will get worse if its not treated

  • @mrchrmedone hey jackass not everyone who has bipolar gets a check because of it.u clearly have no understanding of the disorder. ppl with bipolar can at times seems perfectly fine and then its like a switch going off and you cant control how you feel. you have no right to mock something you know little to nothing about. you have no idea how it feels to have so much energy one day and the next it hurts just to get out of bed. o and i dont get a check all the cash i got i worked for.

  • I've got bipolar and I've been diagnosed a year ago. The most saddest part is when you're not able to concentrate on tasks and do simple things, the people that don't know what you're going through can tease you and say or do hurtful things as well as being bullied. But the thing about people is that they are people, they like to feel they are bigger than you and better than you.

  • sound like me lol

  • Hi rachel ur fit, im just a wee lad 16 yr old me and i have bp i on a manic right nowww FUCK YES NIGGER SON white power! i love u rachel. Btw, everyone im going to be a young actor, add me! boys and girls

  • Ok, this made me cry becuz it hit me to the extreme! I am diagnosed bipolar as well but recently realized I had become dependent on Adderall and Ambien pills and need help for that and to get back on my Bipolar medication that I had quit for the Adderall and Ambien. I have done so many things that I am ashamed of due to my bipolar that even I am appalled and embarrassed to admit. I have also been in a rehabilitation program for my BP and I felt like watching u I was watching myself explain this.
