They are unbelievable I'm currently learning that salute and it is the most complicated score I have ever seen! These men are amazing!

Awesome video. A lot of the older guys in my corps knew Alex but I was born just a little after his time unfortunately. I wish I could have met him and seen him and his corps in person.

@robandrene Further to agricolae 101, I too was at Nottingham's Wollaton Park to see the massed pipes and drums in 1979. However, as I was only nine years of age, I cannot remember if it was the World Championships or not. All I know there were around 109 bands present and they all came together at the end of the day to play a massed drum salute and marches. The atmosphere was absolutely electric.

@agricolae101 In 1979 the World Championships were held in Nottingham. I know, I was there. If you want to verify, I suggest you go to the RSPBA website and look at who/where the 1979 World's were. I don't know if they ever went to England again or not, but for one year they did. I know......I was there....and was almost arrested.....

Hi just wondering if you have anymore clips of B-Cal as my father in law Brian Johnston played in B-Cal alongside Alex on drums. He sadly passed away 2 years ago and any footage would be appreciated

@agentknyne I think they where Clansman drums by a company called Rose-Morris, which where fairly popular in the 1970's and early 80's

the back sticking is amazing

holy crap...sonors???
I love how their hands appear to move so effortlessly, yet their faces seem to say "yes, this does indeed require 100% of the coordination I can muster!"
Great clip!
