This is my new 75 Gallon bowfront. With Sump... total water volume is close to 90 gallons. Set up include: Drilled 75 gallon bowfront aquarium, sump, skimmer, refugium with 48 watts of T5 lighting over sump and refugium, 216 watts of T5 lighting for main display tank, koralia pumps, amd many other components in the sump that make up the chemical and mechanical filtration. Livestock includes: Niger Trigger, Sailfin Tang, Yellow Tang, Clownfish, other smaller misc. fish... In the sump I have many different species of macro algae, 40 lbs of live rock filled with pods... main display has lots of snails, hermits, live sand and about 120 pounds of DIY Live Rock I constructed myself with a mixture of portland cement, crushed oyster shell, sand and rock salt. I'm sure I missed a lot but that's the pretty much the main components. Sump and refugium keeps water crystal clear! My first time using one and WOW what a difference from HOB filters lol.

  • @tsns1 Get out much? social interactions will help your problems :)

  • by the way kudos for the tank!

  • You have to be careful doing DIY rock. It can sometimes take over six months to cure the rock depending on the type of cement you use. If you're going to do it, use a cement that's already been used by a fellow reefer and was cycled within two months. By cycled it means you have to let the pH of the rocks balance out. Otherwise its a pain just waiting for your rocks.........been there done that...

  • how did you cure your rocks ..and for how long??..i made some and am trying to figure out the cure process??? please help!!!..
