Try a bit of SUPER glue on the adhesive pads

This humidifier keeps the humidity at 71 to 72 percent well but the adhesive tape won't hold the humidor to the humidor lid.

Sure it will. You need to make sure you press the adhesive firmly in place for 20-30 seconds. It also helps if you make sure the wood you are adhering to is free of dirt or residue. Sometimes even a light sanding will scuff it up a bit more to adhere better.
