When I lived in San Jose, Ca I remeber seeing these in the classified ads. Most sellers were selling tickle me elmo in the $400-$600 range. However, I did see a few of these guys that were being sold for over $1000. And you are right people were buying at these insane prices. Thanks John, for the trip down memory lane. It seems like yesterday when this took place.

I'm honestly shocked you didn't mention the riots that happened when this came out. Of course, I don't remember them seeing as I was only a year old at the time of it's release but I remember my family talking about the riots that took place (in inner city Philadelphia, no less) a few years back. Great video though! 8D
