hey man i know this is an old post but if anyone gets this please respond.
I have issue with my mpc. whenever i hit the mode button the mpc trips out and switches banks to the C bank.
also when if my beat is playing and i hit mode the best stops ... as if i hit the stop button
also every now and then when i use my scrolling wheel it trips out and adjusts the screen contrast. .... crazy shit! but ive had it for a long time and i can send it in now... i never dropped/spilled anything. HELP!

yes i said that 4 months ago .. . a few days later the switches arrived and it was easy to replace them

yes i bought them from ebay alot more cheaper than the same ones the sell at mpcstuff site....
it was easy to unscrew the pcb and disconnected those cables.. then u just desolder that one and resolder a new one. piece a cake.. send me a message if u need to know something

na but look...i will tell you from experience...DO NOT DOUBT YOURSELF WHEN YOU NEED TO DO WORK ON YOUR EQUIPMENT...you will get scared and screw up..

mpc got all kinda problems got my 4 yrs ago pads are out my mode button is broke up button somtimes dont work
its suck man

i got the same prob. i just ordered 10 tact switches that sits under the plastic button on the pcb board. 3 dollars for 10pcs pn ebay. mpcstuff sells them for 8dollar a piece.
i still dont if i will be able to desolder and resolder a new one without fuckin up the mpc but i have no choice cause i bought mine used 1 year ago...

Thats for the advice everyone. The dealer turned out to be a little shaddy, but luckily Akai took it in for repairs. Should have it back soon.
