I have a trane made heat pump. The originally installed t-stat had a jumper between Y and W. The white then went to W2. Do I need the jumper on my 3M-50?

@infringinator nevermind I figured out I needed a jumper between RC and RH...ugh took me forever! I bypassed the blue and orange since I dont have a heat pump (as far as I know) Would the furnace still work if I did have a heat pump and didnt hook up the heat pump wires?

my wall has brown, black, white, yellow, orange, green, red, and blue wires. I connected everything but I can't get the fan to turn on...any ideas?

I rather use the C wire at the thermostat, since it's there and there are no outlets near. And the furnace side if I use the external transformer, there will be 2 wires. One for the C wire coming from the thermostat and what do I do with the 2nd wire, ground??
@tdkshadow Wire it without adding anything to the thermostat. You need to set the switch to heat pump - not to norm. You do not have to add the jumper.

@infringinator The G wire is the fan wire. To your question: Would the furnace still work if I did have a heat pump and didn't hook up the heat pump wires? The answer is no, it wouldn't work.
